Twinkle 06 / Power bills

Opened the power bill standing up. Mistake.

A quarterly heart-starter about bills that jumped the moment the rebates ran out, then a hard turn into who owns the poles, the plants and the deals, and why suburbs can't own their own power yet.

Open seed

The everyday gripe

Straight to camera: the rebate ends, the bill jumps a third, and somehow that counts as the market working. Rebates are painkillers; nobody ever shows you the injury. The trapdoor is the register: every generation deal, every network charge, every contract on public record, and a lawful path for suburbs and towns to own their own generation. This seed is open: film your own bill, your own gasp.

Description

BaitEvery household opened the same envelope in the same quarter and made the same noise. It is the most shared gripe in the country right now.
SwitchFrom blaming the weather, the renewables or the neighbours to reading the actual deals: who owns what, who profits when, and what expires.
SystemPublic assets with long public memory, plus the sovereignty layer: your panels, your battery, your data, your say in local generation.

The one-breath drop

Said before the flush

"Every energy deal out in the open, and let your suburb make and own its own power." Second breath lives in the room.
